Socialists Need to Back the Fuck Up
Alrighty, I know it's been far too long since I vented my spleed here, But I've been busy as a rabbit in mating season with TAFE and social commitments, so deal with it.
As I just said, I go to Tafe, RMIT TAFE in Melbourne Australia. It's a damn fine institution and I have nothing against the place itself. What does annoy me however, is that simply because I don't subscribe to the idiocy of Marxism or any other branch of Socialism, I'm automatically a Fascist. As usual, here's an anecdote: Walking through the humble campus of the university section of RMIT (humble my ass, it's about ten eight story high buildings clumped together) I noticed a gathering of the local Socialist organisation of RMIT. I thought to myself "Ok, so they'll probably want me to sign a petition or something". That they did, I was assailed by a rather disgruntled looking young man who politely asked me if I was interested in signing a petition to remove all Australian military support from Iraq. I declined equally politely and not another word was spoken. However, a couple of days later, the Socialists were back. This time i was approached by two people, a disturbingly fragrant (in a bad way) young lady with dreadlocks and armpits hairier than mine, and a tall long haired bloke with a beard. In a shrill, piercing voice, El-stinko demanded I sign the same petition put to me on the previous encounter. I politely declined, explaining that I believe Australia should at least maintain a peacekeeping force to help out the Iraqis with cleaning up the mess we all helped make. (Quite at odds with my "nuke Iraq" stance I know) But even with my calmly delivered, rational explanation, the shrill hippy bitch screamed at me, labelling me a fascist, and accusing me of "Supporting war and death".
On that day, I was willing to be the bigger person and walk away from the ranting young girl who smelled of cheese and the outgoing opening of a cows digestive system. But It got me thinking; "Why are they allowed to cram their opinion in my face, aggressively and intrusively, yet when I try to respond and explain my own point of view, I am verbally assaulted and considered by them to be the next Hitler?" Don;t get me wrong, I don't care what their opinions are, And mroe power to them for standing up for them. I respect their right to think what they want, why are these unwashed cretins unable to afford me the same respect?
At this point in the article, I would like to douse with petrol and burn all credibility I have built by tackling this issue so rationally up til now. The simple explanation, is that the reason these people are so aggressive in their zealotry is because they're wrong. Socialism doesn't work. 12 farmers in a biodome maybe, but apply your extreme left system to the real world and your nation will be up shit creek without a paddle in no time at all. It's been tried, over and over again and it has failed each time. These idiots don't realise that extremist politics simply do not work. Fascism failed too. The most stable and economically powerful governments in the world are all governments branching from the "centre" of the political spectrum. They use aspects of both sides, and it works. We have countries that run smooth as a newborns arse compared to catastrphes like Israel and most of the Middle East. Socialists are bigots with no memory. Fascists are assholes with no memory. Get off your high horse, just because you're too insecure to think as an individual doesn't mean grouping yourself into an ill-concieved umbrella of douchebags makes you right. Snap out of it assholes. Capitalism and centre leaning politics are what makes this world liveable.
